Abstract
Biomimeticsbecome a more and more attracting topic in the field of product development. Whereas most literature aims for a codification of biology knowledge in order tomake it usable in fferent forms of databases, this paper focuses on the direct interdisciplinary collaboration. Therefore a student project with biology as well as engineering students was conducted. Based on its analysis, the paper presents requirements for further method improvements in the field of biomimetic design as well as a procedural approach that supports the direct interdisciplinary ollaboration.
